For This Afternoon: An area of low pressure over southern Quebec province will combine with colder air pushing into southern New England to continue to produce west winds that will gust up to 40 to 50 mph at times this afternoon. These winds are expected to decrease noticeably after 5 pm this afternoon.
In addition to the very gusty winds, there will be an abundant amount of sunshine this afternoon across Western and Central Mass. Temperatures this afternoon will hold steady between 49 and 54 Degrees.
Tonight: An area of high pressure builds over the region tonight. This means that we will see clear skies and light winds tonight. The combination of the clear skies, light winds and dry air will lead to low temperatures to bottom out between 28 and 32 Degrees tonight.
Saturday: A sunny to partly sunny day is expected on Saturday with generally light winds expected. High temperatures Saturday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.
Saturday Night: A weak low pressure system is expected to take shape well to the southeast of Nantucket. This proximity of this storm to Western and Central Mass is such that we will probably see a mix of clouds and stars on Saturday night, however, no precipitation is expected. Low temperatures Saturday night will be near 30 Degrees.
Sunday & Monday: High pressure will build back into the region for Sunday and Monday.
This means that skies on Sunday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees.
Clear skies are expected on Sunday night with low temperatures between 25 and 30 Degrees.
Monday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
Tuesday: A weak frontal boundary is forecast to cross the region on Tuesday afternoon. I think that we will probably see a mixture of sunshine and clouds on Tuesday and there may be a few showers around during the afternoon. Not a wash-out by any means. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 55 and 60 Degrees.
Wednesday Through Next Friday: A strong high pressure system will push southeastward into the northern and then eastern United States late next week. This high pressure system is expected to spread some fairly cold air southeastward into the northeastern United States by about next Friday. This means that below average temperatures are likely by late next week, which will persist through next weekend.
So, Wednesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees.
Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
Next Friday currently looks partly sunny with high temperatures only near 40 Degrees. With that said, we will have to watch for the possibility for some sort of storm system spinning up near the southern New England coast along a frontal boundary. At this time, it looks like there is a very low chance of this occurring. Should it occur though, we would have to watch for snow or a rain-snow mix across Western and Central Mass on Friday afternoon and Friday night.
