Thunderstorms, Some Possibly Strong To Severe, Wednesday Afternoon & Wednesday Night

For This Afternoon: A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected this afternoon. It will be warm and increasingly more humid.

We will have to keep an eye on any thunderstorms moving eastward from eastern New York State late this afternoon. A couple of these thunderstorms may move as far east as the I-91 corridor early this evening, but I don’t think they’ll move any further east than this. So, areas along and west of I-91 in western Mass could see a thunderstorm or two early this evening with the rest of Western and Central Mass remaining dry this afternoon through this evening.

High temperatures this afternoon will be near 85 Degrees with humid conditions.

Tonight: Any thunderstorms across far Western Mass will weaken and dissipate by midnight. Other than that, skies tonight will be generally cloudy and it will be warm and humid with low temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees.

Wednesday: Very warm and humid weather is expected on Wednesday with afternoon high temperatures expected to be between 85 and 90 Degrees.

This warm and humid air mass will lead to an atmosphere that will become quite favorable in producing thunderstorm activity during Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening.

Thunderstorms are likely to begin developing by about 3 pm Wednesday afternoon and increase in coverage and intensity during late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. I think that it is likely that a few of the thunderstorms will be strong to severe with strong wind gusts, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.

Wednesday Night Through Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms, some which will be strong to severe, will continue for quite a while on Wednesday night across Western and Central Mass before they shift southward into Connecticut and Rhode Island late Wednesday night. It will be warm and humid on Wednesday night with low temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees.

Thursday is expected to be another very warm and humid day with high temperatures around 85 Degrees. Another round of scattered thunderstorms are expected on Thursday afternoon and a couple of the thunderstorms may be strong to severe with strong wind gusts, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.

On Thursday night, a cold front is expected to push across southern New England. Behind this front, the air will become much less humid and much more comfortable, especially by Friday morning.

Friday: Lots of sunshine with very comfortable humidity levels is expected on Friday. High temperatures Friday will be near 80 Degrees.

This Weekend: A nearly perfect weekend in terms of weather conditions is expected this weekend. Lots of sunshine is expected with very comfortable humidity levels is expected on both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
