This Afternoon: Drizzle with areas of freezing drizzle will continue this afternoon across Western and Central Mass. Continue to use caution, especially on untreated roads, sidewalks and parking lots as these may still be quite icy. The main roads, however, will be fine for travel with wet roads expected. Temperatures this afternoon will hold steady in the low to mid 30s.
Rain, Heavy At Times, Expected Late Tonight Through Friday Morning: Drizzle with areas of freezing drizzle will likely continue this evening.
Rain is then expected to overspread Western and Central Mass between about midnight and 2 am tonight. The rain will become heavy at times late tonight. It is possible that the northern Worcester Hills may see some freezing rain for a while as temperatures will hover near freezing all night long there. Elsewhere across Western and Central Mass, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s.
On Friday morning, the rain is expected to continue and it will be heavy at times. In fact, there is the possibility for a rumble or two of thunder during Friday morning. Temperatures on Friday morning will rise through the 40s to possibly near 50 Degrees.
Friday Afternoon & Friday Night: It now looks like drier air will rapidly move in during Friday afternoon. This will shut off the precipitation before the colder air makes it into the area. This all means that rain will end during early Friday afternoon & then there is the possibility for a few snow showers later Friday afternoon and Friday evening across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills.
It is also expected to be windy on Friday afternoon and Friday night with West winds gusting up to 30 to 40 mph at times.
Temperatures on Friday afternoon will fall through the 40s and into the 30s. Low temperatures Friday night will be between 15 and 20 Degrees.
This Weekend: Saturday will be sunny with high temperatures between 25 and 30 Degrees.
Clear skies are expected on Saturday night with low temperatures near 10 Degrees.
Sunday will be cloudy and there will be some scattered snow showers during the afternoon. High temperatures Sunday will be near 35 Degrees.
