Lots Of Sunshine The Rest Of Today; Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Possible Wednesday Afternoon

For The Rest Of Today: A weak area of high pressure will bring plenty of sunshine, light winds, warm temperatures and comfortable humidity levels the rest of today. High temperatures this afternoon will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.

Tonight: That high pressure system will begin to move to the east. Skies will start out clear to partly cloudy this evening with increasing amounts of clouds expected after midnight tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 58 and 62 Degrees.

Wednesday: A cold front is expected to push across southern New England during Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. Out ahead of this front, the atmosphere is expected to be warm, humid, somewhat unstable with a lot of wind shear present. This means that we are going to be watching the thunderstorm threat very closely.

Right now, it looks like a line of thunderstorms will push across Western and Central Mass during the 2 pm to 6 pm time frame.

While a widespread severe weather event looks unlikely right now, there is the potential for a few of these thunderstorms to be strong to severe. Strong wind gusts and hail will be the main threat, however, given the strong atmospheric wind shear, a tornado or two is a possibility.

High temperatures Wednesday will be around 80 Degrees with humid conditions.

Thursday: A partly sunny day is expected on Thursday with less humidity. High temperatures Thursday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.

Friday Through Saturday: Hurricane Dorian is expected to pass to the southeast of the Cape on Friday night and Saturday. This track will be far enough away for the hurricane not to significantly impact our weather here in Western and Central Mass.

So, Friday looks cloudy with high temperatures in the upper 60s.

Some scattered showers are possible on Friday night, especially across Central Mass. Low temperatures Friday night will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

Saturday will be a partly sunny day with high temperatures near 75 Degrees.

For anyone traveling to the Cape this weekend, be aware that Hurricane Dorian may bring heavy rain and up to 50 mph wind gusts are possible on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Sunday: A sunny to partly sunny day is expected on Sunday with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees.
