For The Rest Of Today: A quick hitting weak storm system will affect our weather this afternoon with a period of light snow.
Light snow will overspread Western and Central Mass around midday and then continue throughout this afternoon. The light snow will quickly come to an end from west to east between 7 and 8 pm this evening.
Snow amounts this afternoon and early this evening will be very light and will range from a dusting to less than one inch south of the Mass Pike to around one inch or so of snow accumulation along and north of the Mass Pike. Localized 2 inch snow amounts are possible in the northern Worcester Hills.
Even though snow amounts will be very light, this will coincide with this afternoon’s commute. Therefore, be aware that slippery roads are possible this afternoon and early this evening, especially north of the Mass Pike and particularly in the higher terrain.
High temperatures this afternoon will be near 35 Degrees.
Tonight Through Saturday: An area of high pressure will build into the area later tonight. So, after cloudy skies this evening, we should see clearing after midnight tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be near 20 Degrees.
Saturday will start out sunny, however, the sun is likely to mix with some clouds during the afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will be between 31 and 35 Degrees.
Saturday Night Through Sunday: High pressure will be located right over Southern New England on Saturday night. This means that clear skies and cold temperatures are expected. Low temperatures Saturday night will be between 10 and 15 Degrees.
That high pressure system will move off to our east on Sunday with milder air beginning to move into the region. Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected on Sunday with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.
Turning to Sunday night, increasing clouds are expected. In addition, some light rain with areas of light freezing rain are possible near sunrise Monday morning. Low temperatures Sunday night will be in the low 30s.
Monday Through Tuesday: A south to southwesterly wind flow will continue to push mild air into Western and Central Mass during Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, widespread rain showers are expected throughout the day. High temperatures Monday will be near 50 Degrees.
Widespread rain shower activity will continue through Monday night and Tuesday. Temperatures on Monday night will remain steady in the upper 40s. High temperatures Tuesday will be near 55 Degrees.
A cold front will push through the area during Tuesday night. Widespread rain showers will continue Tuesday evening. There is the possibility that the rain showers could change to some snow showers after midnight Tuesday night before ending early Wednesday morning.
Wednesday Through Thursday: Colder air will move into the area during Wednesday under a gusty northwest wind. Skies on Wednesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. Northwest winds will gust up to 35 mph during the day Wednesday.
Sunny skies are expected on Thursday with high temperatures near 30 Degrees.
