Heavy Rain & Gusty Winds Expected Across Western & Central Mass Wed. Afternoon & Wed. Night

For This Afternoon: An area of high pressure will gradually build eastward towards southern New England this afternoon.

A mixture of sunshine and clouds is expected this afternoon with high temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees.

Tonight: That high pressure system will edge closer to our area tonight bringing us clear to partly cloudy skies with low temperatures near 40 Degrees.

Tuesday: An area of high pressure will be centered near southern New England on Tuesday. A sunny to partly sunny day is expected on Tuesday with high temperatures near 60 Degrees.

A Strong Storm System Will Bring Heavy Rain & Gusty Winds To Western & Central Mass On Wednesday Afternoon & Wednesday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to rapidly strengthen as it moves from coastal parts of North Carolina on Wednesday morning to near Nantucket around midnight Wednesday night. This storm is expected to pack quite a bit in the way of energy and moisture and it does have the potential to be a pretty significant storm for southern New England on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.

It is expected that rain will overspread Western and Central Mass during Wednesday afternoon and continue through all of Wednesday night. In addition, given the strong amount of energy and how moisture packed this storm will be, it is likely that the rain will come down hard at times, especially throughout Wednesday night.

Rainfall Totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected across Western and Central Mass on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.

In addition to the heavy rain, gusty east to southeast winds are expected throughout Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night with wind gusts of up to 25 to 35 mph likely.

Thursday: A windy and cool day is expected on Thursday as that storm system moves into Maine. In addition, scattered shower activity can be expected throughout Thursday. High temperatures Thursday will be near 55 Degrees. Northwest winds are expected to gust up to 40-45 mph at times throughout Thursday.

Friday: A sunny, but windy day is expected on Friday with high temperatures near 60 Degrees.

This Weekend: Partly sunny skies are currently expected for both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures on Saturday will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. High temperatures on Sunday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.
