For This Afternoon: Clouds will continue to be on the increase this afternoon across Western and Central Mass ahead of Hurricane Dorian, which is now located near the North Carolina coast. High temperatures this afternoon will be near 70 Degrees.
Tonight: Even though Hurricane Dorian is expected to pass well to the southeast of the Cape late tonight and Saturday morning, I am keeping an eye on the increasing possibility that a band of heavy rain will set up first across Central Mass between 7 and 9 pm this evening and then spread into Western Mass just before midnight tonight. This band of heavy rain could persist across the region until about 3 to 5 am Saturday morning.
Rainfall amounts tonight could range from one half of an inch to one inch across Western Mass to 1 to 2 inches of rain across Central Mass.
Low temperatures tonight will be near 55 Degrees.
Saturday: Hurricane Dorian will continue to track well to the southeast of the Cape and Nantucket Saturday morning before heading for Nova Scotia Saturday afternoon.
Skies will be cloudy and there may be some leftover scattered showers during Saturday morning. Skies are expected to become partly sunny during Saturday afternoon.
High temperatures Saturday afternoon will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.
Sunday: A sunny to partly sunny day is expected on Sunday with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees.
Monday Through Tuesday: Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected on both Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures both on Monday and Tuesday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.
