Cold & Wet Today Through Tuesday With Some Higher Elevation Snow Monday Night Through Tuesday Night

For The Rest Of Today: A disgustingly cold and wet weather pattern is expected across Western and Central Mass for the next 2 to 3 days.

For the rest of today, an area of low pressure is expected to pass to the south of Southern New England. This means that the weather will be cloudy and cold with widespread showers expected. In fact, some snow or sleet may mix in with the rain at times, especially in the higher elevations. Temperatures throughout the rest of today will remain in the 40s.

Tonight: A brief break in the widespread showers are expected tonight. With that said, skies will still be cloudy and it will be raw and damp with some scattered showers expected this evening. Low temperatures tonight will be between 37 and 41 Degrees.

Monday: A late Spring Nor’Easter is expected to impact Western and Central Mass beginning Monday afternoon. An area of low pressure will take shape off of the coast of Delaware during Monday afternoon. Monday will be cloudy and continued raw with high temperatures between 48 and 53 Degrees. A passing shower or two is possible throughout the day Monday with a steady rain expected to overspread Western and Central Mass late Monday afternoon.

Monday Night Through Tuesday Night: That Nor’Easter will impact our area throughout Monday night, Tuesday and Tuesday night with rain expected from Monday night through Tuesday and through Tuesday night.

Another concern with this storm is the potential for snow to mix in with the rain at times throughout Monday night, Tuesday and Tuesday night. The temperatures in the low and mid-levels of the atmosphere will definitely be cold enough to support snow and this cold air may be brought to the surface in some areas. This means that either a mix of snow and rain or even some periods of all snow is possible in the higher terrain of the Worcester Hills and across the Berkshires. I think that the valley floor of the Pioneer Valley and the Blackstone Valley will remain all rain, but a rain-snow mix may also occur at times across the Hilltowns of Western Mass from Monday night through Tuesday night.

It will continue to be cold for this time of year with low temperatures Monday night between 34 and 39 Degrees, high temperatures Tuesday around 45 Degrees and low temperatures Tuesday night between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Wednesday: The sun will finally make a return on Wednesday as that Nor’Easter moves away. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 58 and 62 Degrees.

Thursday Through Friday: A weak frontal system moves through the area on Thursday. I think that we will start out with some sunshine Thursday morning, but skies will be cloudy Thursday afternoon along with some scattered showers around. High temperatures Thursday will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.

Some partial sunshine is expected on Friday, however, there may be a passing shower or two from time to time. High temperatures Friday will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.
