A Few Thunderstorms Possible Between 2 pm This Afternoon & 7 pm This Evening: It looks quite likely that we will see a few thunderstorms across Western and Central Mass between 2 pm this afternoon and 7 pm this evening. Some of the thunderstorms could be strong enough to produce wind gusts of up to 40 mph and small hail.
Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected through early this afternoon. Temperatures by early this afternoon will top off around 80 Degrees with a gusty northwest wind expected.
A pool of cold air aloft will combine with a piece of atmospheric energy to produce anywhere from a couple to a few thunderstorms across Western and Central Mass beginning around 2 pm this afternoon. Any thunderstorms will be moving from northwest to southeast in direction. The isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity is likely to continue through late this afternoon and early this evening before ending around 7 pm this evening.
Severe thunderstorms ARE NOT expected. With that said, given the very cold pool of air in the mid-levels of the atmosphere, any thunderstorms will have the capability of producing wind gusts of up to 40 mph and small hail.
