4 To 8 Inches Of Snow Are Expected Tonight Through Tuesday Across Western & Central Mass

A 4 To 8 Inch Snowfall Is Expected From Tonight Through Tuesday: Snow is expected to overspread Western Mass during the 9-11 pm time period this evening and then overspread Central Mass by 11 pm to midnight tonight. Snow is then expected to continue throughout the night tonight, which means the Tuesday morning commute is going to be a mess with slippery roads and slow going in terms of travel. During the day on Tuesday, snow is expected to continue throughout the day across the entire area. Snow should come to an end during Tuesday evening, first across Western Mass by 8-9 pm or so and then across Central Mass by about 9-11 pm or so. As for snow totals, my latest forecast map for this storm is attached to this post, but in general it appears that 4 to 8 inches of snow can be expected across the entire area. I want to emphasize that the big impact from this storm will be to the Tuesday morning commute due to falling snow and slick travel. I do think that once we get into the late morning and afternoon hours of Tuesday, most roads will be wet and travel will be less of an issue. This is due to solar insolation melting the snow on contact with paved surfaces and prior treatments on roads. Low temperatures tonight will be near 25 Degrees. High temperatures Tuesday will be near 35 Degrees. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be near 25 Degrees. Winds tonight will be East at 10 to 20 mph. Winds on Tuesday will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Winds on Tuesday night will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
