For This Afternoon: A weak cold front now located over central New York State will push across Western and Central Mass this afternoon. Expect cloudy skies this afternoon and it appears that a few scattered rain showers are expected in the valleys of Western and Central Mass, while some scattered snow showers are possible across the Worcester Hills, the Hilltowns of Western Mass and the Berkshires. No snow accumulation is expected. High temperatures this afternoon will range from 45 and 50 Degrees in the valleys to around 40 Degrees in the hiils. Tonight: Some leftover snow showers are possible this evening with skies becoming clear after midnight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Wednesday will be the coldest day of this week even though there will be plenty of sunshine. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 35 Degrees. Thursday will feature plenty of sunshine with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 55 Degrees. This Week’s Weather Forecast For Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of Today: A mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds are expected for the rest of the day today. Temperatures will be in the low 50s with a westerly wind gusting up to 30 mph at times. Tonight: Skies will start out clear to partly cloudy, but will become mostly cloudy towards morning as a cold front approaches the region. Low temperatures tonight will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Tuesday: A weak cold front will cross the region during the late morning and afternoon hours. Much of the day is expected to be cloudy and it is possible that there could be a stray rain or even snow shower during the afternoon. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Wednesday Through Friday: High pressure is expected to control our weather for the second half of this week. This means that dry weather is expected. Wednesday will be the coldest day of this week even though there will be plenty of sunshine. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 35 Degrees. Squall Line To Push Through Western & Central Mass From 9 pm to 10 pm

I am closely watching a squall line that is now pushing across eastern New York State right now at a forward speed of about 50-55 mph.

This squall line is likely to push into far western Mass around 9 pm and reach the I-91 corridor by about 9:30 pm. This squall line is likely to then reach a line from Orange-Gardner to Sturbridge by about 9:45 pm. It is expected that this squall line will race across Central Mass around 10 pm.

While there is likely to be very little, if any thunder or lightning, this squall line will still likely pack a big punch as it will be accompanied by wind gusts of 50 to 70 mph and a period of extremely heavy rainfall. Downed tree limbs and some power outages are quite possible, so it may be best to pull out those flashlights and charge up those phones, just in case.
